Vonage Review

Vonage Offers Good Reliability and Service with a Large Customer Base

Vonage is not the cheapest VoIP service, but it is certainly one of the most reliable. Vonage has invested the most time and money in building its network and in acquiring new customers - currently, it has the most customers of any VoIP provider (2.2 million), outpacing the next largest VoIP provider by a significant margin. As a result, Vonage provides very high quality service and is a good choice for those who need superior call quality and reliability. With an unlimited plan for $24.99 per month (with a two-year agreement, surcharges and taxes apply), Vonage is still priced to save most people hundreds of dollars a year compared to traditional phone service. They are also the only major VoIP provider that does not require you to use a credit card - you can pay from your checking account instead.

For international callers, Vonage recently added free calling to most of Western Europe with their unlimited plan. Their customer service is about what you would expect from any larger company such as AT&T - they will help you solve your problem, but it may take some time to get the right person on the line. Overall, Vonage is a solid company for those who are willing to pay a little more.

Vonage Review:

Business service has several hiccups initially which cause real problems for a small business. We had three lines switched over, and now we only recieve on one line for a ten day period. (cant recieve faxes for 10 days. They need to have specialists deal with business class.

Vonage Review:

Absolutely very bad service. Please do not go to Vonage. This is the only company which is going to charge you $40 to disconnect. Calls would drop, quality is very bad. Service disconnects for no reason and have to go through stupid reps who do not know what they are doing.

Vonage Review:

Reliability issues stem from the dependence of Vonage on cable. Vonage as a user-friendly product is excellent.

Vonage Review:

Missleading... I signed up February 28th. At that time they said (a) that it would take 10 business days to get connected, (b) that I could not get the "refer a friend" benefit for my brother's recommendation since I did not sign up on the web, (c) that I could not get the advertized 3 months at 9.95 since I bought my router at a store, and (d) they could not give me the $70 rebate because I started via a store. Then the latest is that they say they can not connect me until March 26th. I called to be sure I was not being billed for this first month when they can't connect me and they said that I was and that there was nothing that could be done about it, they start billing "as soon as possible" they said. So they did not support the offers they made and did not support the 10 day connect time and they billed me during the entire time even though no one can call me via Vonage and I'm paying for regular phone then too. I don't know how to rate some of the categories since I can't get connected but customer service is zero to one. P.S. I've spent hours and hours on the phone with them.

Vonage Review:

Have had vonage since 2005 quality is good, no problems with service and vmail but the customer service is horrible. I have been trying to import a number since 7/08 and after 7 long 40 minute calls that end up disconnecting from Vonage's customer service site during the order I am done with them!

Vonage Review:

We have been using Vonage for about 2 years now and have not had any issues or have not had to contact customer service. It took me a long time to make the move but I have not regretted it yet.The only issue is, even though it is priced at $24.95/mo. it actually comes to $32.28/mo. Obviously that is all tax and what not but just so you know. Bottom line, it has worked out for us. We are always looking for something cheaper.

Vonage Review:

TOTAL DISASTER! Vonage is a predator! We had a brief conversation with Vonage about using it for our two retail stores. We could not use it, BUT Vonage had our other telephone service cut. We have had phone problems for three weeks, including no phone - which means - no credit card sales. This has cost us an unbelievable amount of money and business. They will not release our long established phone numbers!

Vonage Review:

Vonage is poor customer service and poor in quality. When you call customer service you're on hold for at least 20 minutes. If there is a problem all they keep saying is it's not our problem. When you try to cancel, they give you a very hard time. When you ask to speak to a supervisor, they are on theh line helping other people and you can't ever get to them. I have switched to ITP and have had no issues that service. Customer Service is quick to respond. Hold times are very short and customer service is very pleasant.

Vonage Review:

When you sign up with vonage be sure to read the fine print if you decide to cancel for any reason within the first two years for any reason there is a $39.99 disconnection fee and if they supplied you with their router it's another $49.99 if you cancel with in the first year. Any problems with your service including loud clicking so you are unable to hear your caller or static on the line or dropped call are automatically the fault of your cable provider even if you have the highest bandwidth available. I wouldn't use them again.
