Vonage Review

Vonage Offers Good Reliability and Service with a Large Customer Base

Vonage is not the cheapest VoIP service, but it is certainly one of the most reliable. Vonage has invested the most time and money in building its network and in acquiring new customers - currently, it has the most customers of any VoIP provider (2.2 million), outpacing the next largest VoIP provider by a significant margin. As a result, Vonage provides very high quality service and is a good choice for those who need superior call quality and reliability. With an unlimited plan for $24.99 per month (with a two-year agreement, surcharges and taxes apply), Vonage is still priced to save most people hundreds of dollars a year compared to traditional phone service. They are also the only major VoIP provider that does not require you to use a credit card - you can pay from your checking account instead.

For international callers, Vonage recently added free calling to most of Western Europe with their unlimited plan. Their customer service is about what you would expect from any larger company such as AT&T - they will help you solve your problem, but it may take some time to get the right person on the line. Overall, Vonage is a solid company for those who are willing to pay a little more.

Vonage Review:

I am extremely dissatisfied with Lingo. The sound quality was very poor, there were several times when I had a connection problem. And when I canceled Lingo, they kept billing me for 2 months. When I tried to dispute the billing, it was never resolved, even after spending 3 hours with customer service. I'M EXTREMLY DISSATISFIED!

Vonage Review:

Ok, I started the process tonight of re-establishing service with Vonage. (I have had CallVantage for the past 3 years) I had Vonage in the past and wanted to see if I could still use the same user ID - not a big deal, but when the agent tells me at the beginning of the call that it is, and then later tells me that it is not, and that he never said this in the first place. The reason I dropped the service the last time as POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE - and that is the reason that I am cancelling service again. I will not be attempting Vonage again.

Vonage Review:

I have had vonage for over 3 years. I had a problem with my adapter and despite several phone calls and e-mails, instead of helping solve the problem the representative wanted me to sign up for an additional year and buy a new adapter! They want to sell new services without providing good service. Lots of dropped calls and poor sound quality. Very poor customer service.

Vonage Review:

The price is good, the quality is unpredictable. Fades in and out. Many times it is fine, then all of a sudden people can not hear you. Not reliable enough to be the only phone in the home.

Vonage Review:

I'm a Vonage UK subscriber and have happily used this service for 5 years. I've moved around the world quite a bit over the last decade and have used the vonage router with my broadband provider in Poland, Croatia, Slovakia and, currently, the United Arab Emirates. The service has been consistently great and call quality easily matched landline standards. The only minor irritation is when calling mobiles as there is often a lengthy delay between dialling the number and being connected but that's really no real hardship. Frankly I cn't recommnend vonage enough and will continue to subscribe as long as thy keep going.

Vonage Review:

Now on my second attempt at using Vonage over a 6-year period and increasingly disappointed. Audio drops in just about every call. Modem shuts down for no obvious reason. Customer service runs me through a time-consuming gamut of tests every single time I call, after which they insist they've discovered the problem on their end and declare it resolved--until I make another call. The costs are going up so high that I can probably go back to landline for the same amount of money, and certainly better quality. What once appeared to hold such promise for ease of use--especially the wealth of features available--is no a relatively expensive nuisance.

Vonage Review:

I have just signed up for Vonage today and already had the taste of their worst Customer Service. I work for UBS and we had 20% discount on monthly service. To get this offer I was asked to call a particular toll free number. I have called the same number and one of their sales associate took the call and informed me that I'm good for discount and signed me up for the account. It was not even once, I confirmed with the sales associate multiple times about discount and every time I was told that I will get the discount. Once the sales associate is done with the sign up process, he told me that he is forwarding the call to customer service, and it is the customer service that will process the discount. The actual trouble starts here. Customer service says that I'm not good for discount or the plan that I have selected is not good for discount. In both the cases I was miss informed. And they say that both customer service and sales access the same discount system, that makes it even worst. How can they give conflicting info from the same system? The only way this could happen was either the sales associate must have cheated me to sign me up for the account or the customer service associates job is to decline all such requests. So that most of the people might take it light on discount as they have already signed up for the service. For me both of them are unprofessional, for now it looks like the sales associate did a mistake by miss informing me, but even the customer service associate talks about the job risk if he gives me the discount. How can any companies customer service associate will talk about the job risks with a customer. After all this the supervisor for the customer service associate came on line and starts telling new story, saying that there management is working on extending the corporate discount to the plan, that I have selected. And as usual there is ETA on when it is going to happen. She said that they will listen recording of the call and will get back to me with in 5 to 7 business days. And she simply says that they won't give the discount even though they find that I was miss informed. I have just rated average for all the other features because, since I don't have the connection yet, I can't rate the sound quality, features and reliability. But I had a very worst experience with the customer service, unfortunately there is no option for me to give less than one

Vonage Review:

Have had Vonage voice and fax lines for over four years. Reliability and call quality has actually seemed to improve over that time, perhaps partially due to a change in ISP at one point. Had one problem with a required router firmware update and the customer service to resolve it could not have been better, I had two friendly and knowledgeable people I could easily understand working on the problem who stuck with me, including calling me back at another number, until the problem was resolved.

Vonage Review:

I have been using Vonage since early 2007. Very happy since day one. Their Customer Service Reps have always been very knowledgable and so very helpful. They should give lessons to other companies on what Customer Service is all about.
