JoiPhone Review

JoiPhone is a Newer Provider with Cheap Prices and a Variety of Plan Choices

JoiPhone has not been in the VoIP industry for very long, but they have already established themselves as a provider noteable for versatility and low costs. First, they are currently offering a promotion of $8.95/mo for a year when prepaid as $107.40, or $8.95/mo month-to-month for the first three months (only $16.95/mo after that). This is one of the lowest rates in the VoIP industry - a year of service for roughly equal to two months of the average traditional phone bill. In addition to this, JoiPhone is very versatile regarding plans and add-on features. You can get their dirt-cheap 100 minutes/month plan for only $6.95/mo - not an introductory price. If you call internationally, you have two choices - unlimited U.S. and Canada plus 800 minutes to the top 40 countries for $16.95/mo, or 800 minutes to the top 70 countries for $43.95/mo.

Their add-on features are great as well. You can get a virtual phone number - a number located in any U.S. area code that redirects to your main number - for only $1.95. Create a phone number in a city where family lives and they can call you for free. Additional lines are only $4.95, and you can even own your own toll-free (1-800) number for $2.95 (plus $.039/min). Service quality is certainly not on par with PhonePower or other other top-rated providers, but JoiPhone is still a viable choice for those who want low-priced service with plenty of extras. The options are plentiful - as well as affordable - with JoiPhone VoIP service.

JoiPhone Review:

The connection drops everyday. When dialed from outside, we get a message, the person you are trying to reach is not available, please leave a message. When the router is rebooted the connection is restored. This happens several times a day. Mostly my neighbor complains that phone is not available and we need to switch to regular phone company.

JoiPhone Review:

In the case of using Joiphone as a VOIP provider, you pretty much get what you pay for. I don't know any less expensive offering in the marketplace. But be prepared for very poor customer service. I would only go with them if this is NOT your first VOIP experience so you can persuade them to get things configured correctly. Once setup, their network services are adequate. Their web portal is very clunky and poorly designed. I am still a loyal customer because the 2-year price was less than half of the next best price. YMMV.

JoiPhone Review:

Horrible company. They will take your money and set up your account in two minutes. After that you will realize that you signed up for an unreliable phone service when the numbers you dial don't connect or people tell you that your phone was busy when it was not. After realizing this, I told them not to renew my contract (I prepaid one year)At the end of the year they charged me $200 anyways!! They said it was automatic to renew. I asked for a refund and customer service blew me off. They said I should send an email since billing communicates only through email. Well I did, again and again and again. NO RESPONSE!!!! I called and was given the same crock about billing not talking to customers (I wonder why......) It has been three weeks and I can't get my money back. STAY AWAY. HORRIBLE COMPANY. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND HORRIBLE RELIABILITY!!! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

JoiPhone Review:

In short stay as far away from these incompetent losers as you can. I signed up for a year of service in August and paid in full for a residential line ($8.95 a month at the time) the total was $140.37. This sounds like a good deal right? WRONG. On Wednesday December 10th they erroneously discounted the number. Now, when you call in or try to call out the recording says: this is an invalid account. Let me remind you this is only the fourth month of a 12 month deal. I have called joiphone twice a day, every day and sent countless emails to sales@joiphone.com, billing@joiphone.com and cancel@joiphone.com. As of Saturday December 13th, still no service. Do yourself a favor: In short stay as far away from these incompetent losers as you can!

I have using joi Phone for the last one year. I must tell that it provides the best voice quality for the very low price compared to its competitors. It has great international rates, that I frequently use to call my folks back home. Joi Phone brings joy and quality for the low price!! Thanks, R. Sultana

JoiPhone Review:

About JoiPhone: They speak English They answer the phone. They are very friendly and helpful. Their price is right. the only thing I regret is taking so long to decide on who to switch to..... I was way overdue in replacing my voip provider "Myphonecompany.com" but not wanting to make another mistake I was doing my research. I looked at many . Finally tired of looking, one day I was about to just order when I ran into JoiPhone. The reviews & price were enough to make me order that very day. NO regrets on this choice. If you are looking to switch or this is your first time I would stop looking and go for it with JoiPhone. 5 stars

JoiPhone Review:

I ordered JoiPhone Jan 2008. It took three months to receive the service after paying for it. I needed to transfer telephone lines and called JoiPhone who helped me write the email to port a AT&T telephone number on July 5, 2008. As of today, September 23, 2008, JoiPhone has still not ported my phone number. I have over 50 correspondences with them and their customer service is horrible and very unprofessional. Managers will not return phone calls, the corporate office will not call after you send them an email, nor is their any way to talk to the porting department. JoiPhone waited for a month before they contacted me on an additional $20.00 fee. They waited another 15 days on sending them a authorization. However, AT&T, ported my number from JoiPhone in less than ten days and JoiPhone had no idea they did not even possess my number any more. They are without a doubt the worst of the worst. I do not recommend them for service. They have no money to pay for their reps for training or phone lines to talk with their customers. The reps are hilarious when they say, we are not a large company and I said, well not and you never will be with the way you treat customers. Sure they are cheap, but their service is not worth it. I plan to file a credit card dispute to receive my money back from July 5, 2008 to the end of my contract. They are that bad.

We called this joi phone people ofor a phone connection and from that day our billing started. We got joi phone's router after 5 days of calling. We connected that on the next day. We can make calls very well no problems in that. But cannot receive calls. We called the customer service i think 5 time. but they are still unable to resolve the issue. And not ready to give the refund too. I will say to everyone beware of this joi phone. Customer service people are rude too. I still dont know how to start my phone's incoming calls. I have been charged the day i called them. VERYYY POOR SERVICE. HAVE told my every friend about this. So BEWARE...

Better sound quality than SR; no delay, no chopping, no echo, even when browsing the web and using the phone at the same time. Me likes JoiPhone... Now, I just have to wait for them to port my old SR phone number.

JoiPhone Review:

The initial set up and ordering went extrememly well, however the subsequent porting of my number or the availability of local number was extremely limited. I explained five days before my next billing cycle that I would be unable to use their service. It has been nothing but a nightmare trying to get "Billing/Customer Service" to care that I cancelled my service and that all they need to do is give me an RMA number and the whole thing would be done. Supervisors don't even show up until noon(Must be nice) so If you decide NOT to use them be warned they WILL drag their feet so that they can get more money out of you before you can actually cancel.
